International experts present best practices to ISO 26262 and safety in innovative fields on November 13th and 14th, 2018 in Stuttgart-Fellbach, Germany.

Much of the innovation in the automotive industry has a direct or indirect impact on safety-related electronic systems. The international conference safetronic, which has been offered since 2002, focuses on current challenges and experiences regarding functional safety in the context of ISO 26262.
A simultaneous translation German-English/ English-German is offered.

Following the approved concept "for experts by experts" the main topics are:

• Norms and Standards – ISO 26262 2nd Edition and SOTIF
• Trends in Functional Safety (Autonomous Driving and Artifical Intelligence)
• Best practice for successful implementations

Dr. Mario Trapp, Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering IESE in Kaiserslautern, is chairman of the advisory board. He is supported by the board members Stefan Kriso (Robert Bosch GmbH), Simon Fuerst (BMW Group), Dr. Alexander Rudolph (Continental), Dr. Andreas Knapp (Daimler AG), Dr. Håkan Sivencrona (Qamcom Research and Technology), Thomas Frese (FORD), Hans-Leo Ross (Bosch Engineering GmbH) and Nicolas Becker (PSA Peugeot-Citroën).

A presentation overview is already available online. Leading experts from OEMs and suppliers offer practice-oriented insights into their experiences with ISO 26262, 2nd edition and the application in all vehicle categories.

Participants can look forward to the keynotes “Regulating Automated Driving” by Bryant Walker Smith, Assistant Professor, University of South Carolina; Affiliate Scholar, Stanford Center for Internet and Society and "How to Apply Functional Safety to Artifical Intelligence" by Michael Wagner, CEO, Edge Case Research, Pittsburgh, USA.
