Press release from: Arcadia, Inc.

26-28, September 2006, Helsinki, Finland: Ardin Software Oy, Arcadia Inc. and their partners participated at Helsinki ICT Week event.

The event was hosted by exhibition organizer Wanha Satama in Helsinki, united 20 exhibiting companies and about as much of merited speakers – representatives of Finnish and international ICT industry. During three days approximately 2000 business people visited the exhibition in Wanha Satama.

Among the speakers were Arcady Khotin, the Managing Director of Ardin Software Oy, and Antti Äkräs, the head of a partnering company ACD Consulting. Keeping to one of ICT Week subjects – outsourcing – they held a presentation titled “Vendor Management in Multi-Sourcing of Software Projects”. The presentation covered the business model theory and practice of multi-sourcing software projects to Russia, one of the leading software-development destinations in nowadays reality.

Ardin Software Oy, a Finland-based Company, acts as a marketing channel for a Russian software community called the Scandinavian Group (ScG) and as a reliable outsourcing partner for European companies. On the Finnish side the business is supported by Oy Prima Partner Russia Ltd, a consultancy company, and other independent consultants. The service offering of Russia and CIS is created and supported by Ardin Software´s St. Petersburg office.

Nine (9) of more than thirty (30) Scandinavian Group (ScG) companies were at Helsinki ICT Week presenting their service offerings and solutions. Among the companies were Arcadia Inc., CSI International, Decosp, Driver-Inter, Hansa Consulting, Lanit Tercom, Metalink Ltd., Soft-Consult and Science Soft (Byelorussia). The representatives of those companies established good business connections with Finnish entrepreneurs and shared their experience with Finnish ICT colleagues. Judging by the past experience gleaned from similar events, such contacts have a tendency to develop into real projects and long-term partnerships.

Ardin Software Oy’s motto “Local in Finland, Local in Russia” at exhibition stand attracted a considerable number of decision-makers who are nowadays defining their outsourcing strategy and – not less important – reporting the financial savings which appear as an outcome of successful near-shore cooperation. Many specialists agree that Ardin Software provides real benefits to the Finnish industry – being a “one-stop shopping” place, a skilled adviser on development process organization and a domain-knowledge holder.

On September 26 at the reception arranged by Ardin Software and the Russian Trade Mission in the premises of the latter, representatives of Finnish business and Russian IT firms had a chance to discuss cross-cultural peculiarities and concluded that those were mainly exaggerated and could not be considered an obstacle in the parties’ relations of any kind. Finnish-Russian cooperation has increased in both political and business currents, which was emphasized by the Russian officials. As Victor Sorokin, the Deputy Trade Representative in Finland, put it: “I am sure that today’s business conference of North-West Russia IT firms with Finnish companies will reinforce further business development in this field. The Trade Mission is ready to support such cooperation which helps young and talented programmers of Russia realize their knowledge into practice by attracting new projects from Finland”.
