23rd India Knit Fair 11.-13. Oct. 2006 Shades, Trends and more - Essence of the Seasons at IKF
23rd INDIA KNIT FAIR is all set to unveil the latest in knitting technology at IKFA Complex, Tirupur, India from 11th to 13th October, 2006. The latest edition of this bi-annual has generated tremendous interest among the key industry players going by their scale of participation in the current edition. This year’s event has drawn all time high exhibitor response with confirmations Exhibitors from New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Tirupur etc.Indian Knitting industry has emerged as a premier supplier of value added items. In recent years there has been a tremendous change in technology and large number of sophisticated computerized knitting, embroidery machines, large scale processing machines compacting machines, soft flow dyeing machines, state of the art sewing lines, CAD/CAM systems and other machinery required in the knitwear manufacturing have been mostly imported are installed & functioning for Export orders.
Gone are the days when knitwear were associated with either undergarments or lingerie alone. The application of knits has been gradually but certainly expanding--- from lingerie to sports wear – to casual wear – to formal wear and very recently even to evening wear

This Event INDIA KNIT FAIR is organized under the aegis of Apparel Export Promotion Council, sponsored by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India in collaboration with Tirupur Exporters’ Association and India Knit Fair . Keeping in mind the importance of the Fair, a society called India Knit Fair Association (IKFA) has been formed with its headquarters at TIRUPUR exclusively to organize this Fair and co-ordinate the promotion of knitwear exports
The India Knit Fair has emerged as one among the most reputed knitwear trade fairs in the world. The best of the brand leaders/stores/wholesalers/importers have already identified TIRUPUR as one of the major sources for their consumers’ requirements. IKF aims to showcase the end-to-end products, materials and services pertaining to the knitwear segment.
With the objective of exposing the competency of Indian Knitwear Exporters’ to the world, the India Knit Fair acts a a podium for both the Indian and International buyers to interact with each other under a common umbrella which in turn convinces the end-users to source their knitwear requirements from India. The 23RD INDIA KNIT FAIR FOR AUTUMN/WINTER, MID-SUMMER COLLECTION 2007 IS TRULY A FEAST TO THE FASHION WORLD AND THE FASHION FREAKS ALIKE.

HELP DESK AT AIRPORT
The IKF Help Desk set up the Coimbatore Air port will ensure a smooth passage for the Buyers and all visiting delegates to the 23rd IKF. Transportation will be made available from Airport to the IKF Complex.
A NEW CONVENTION CENTRE:
The Convention Centre first of its kind in Tirupur with all facilities of International Standards will accommodate up to 700 people and as scheduled it is ready on the first floor of the existing IKF Complex. A joint Venture Agreement between India Knit Fair Association (IKFA) and Tamil Nadu Water Investment Company Ltd (TWICL) was executed and it is agreed that TWICL and IKF work together for Construction and Operation of the Centre. AND Constructiion is nearing completion.
INAUGURATION OF 23RD IKF
By Shri Neeraj Mittal, I.A.S. District Collector, Coimbatore has kindly consented to inaugurate the 23rd INDIA Knit Fair on 11th October, 2006 at 9.30 am at the IKFA Complex, Tirupur.
