Suffolk to remodel Jupiter Medical Center Hyperbaric Chamber

Press release from: Suffolk Construction

/ PR Agency: Regan Communications Group
Suffolk Construction Company, Inc., one of the largest privately held contractors in the country, has been contracted to remodel Jupiter Medical Center’s Hyperbaric Chamber Medical Office.

The $136,000 project consists of the renovation of approximately 1,220 square feet of an existing medical office, installation of two new hyperbaric chambers, and the fitting of an oxygen tank farm to supply the hyperbaric chambers.

The most significant challenge on this project will be hoisting the two 10-foot long and 4-foot high 2,000 pound chambers by crane through a hole, cut purposely for installation of the medical equipment, in the wall of the hospital’s second floor. All work will be closely coordinated and performed while the medical center remains fully operational and occupied.

“Managing a project within an operational medical facility requires comprehensive planning and tight scheduling of the entire process,” said Rex Kirby, President and General Manager of Suffolk Construction’s Southeast Division. “We are honored to be working on our fourth construction project for the Jupiter Medical Center and contribute the award win to our proven ability to delivery quality projects on aggressive schedules.”

The renovation will be completed in March 2010.
