The photo-collective neunplus shows an exhibition of two of its photographers.

The photographic sequence of Annette Assmy shows Altars and Religion in public and private places. The pictures give you an idea about the presence of the Catholicism in a
Latin-American country like Mexico.
In contrast to this sequence, she presents portraits of people who are working or being entertained on an amusement park. These people seem to be grotesque, almost like statues,
in their colourful, nearly kitschy surrounding.

The idea of the photo-sequence of Carolina Gumz originates from a philosophical drama
“la vida es sueno” (life is a dream), which was written by the spanish poet and dramatist Calderon de la Barca in the 17th century. In the drama you can’t find a clear differentiation between dream and reality for its Protagonist Segismund. Carolina has chosen this principal topic as a theme of her photo-concept for the sequence “the life a dream…”

What is life? A frenzy.
