Advancing To App Friendly Campus: Coahoma Community College (CCC) Awarded $252,465 Campus Consortium Grant To Implement Mobile App

Campus Consortium, the largest global education association of schools, colleges and universities, awards Coahoma Community College (CCC) a $252,465 Grant to implement a Mobile Campus App for students and faculty. Located in Coahoma County, Mississippi, about four miles north of the city of Clarksdale, Coahoma Community College is accredited to award the Associate of Arts degree, the Associate of Applied Science degree, and certificates in career education.

Pleased to receive the grant, Dr. Valmadge T. Towner, President at Coahoma Community College shared what drove the institution to apply for the grant, “We currently do not have a mobile app and we are very excited about being able to offer this new service to our student body with the help of this Grant Award. We are very committed to implementing it as part of our strategy to improve student engagement on our campus, which will enhance our student success efforts. We look forward to better serve all students at the College!”.

The Campus Consortium Grant will enable Coahoma Community College to build their official mobile app through the technology provider Unifyed. The mobile app will consist of 14 basic applets like Campus News, Emergency Numbers, Campus Events, Social Media, Maps etc. In addition, it will also feature Unifyed Applets for LMS, Academics and Unifyed Connect.

“This mobile app solution is bound to increase the digital capacity at Coahoma Community College. We hope the College accomplishes a significant increase in user engagement ensuring higher learning and teaching benefits from the personalized applets exclusive to the institution. We believe this will be an opportunity for them to grow and thrive”, states Anjli Jain, Chairman of the Campus Consortium.
