Disaster preparedness can be confusing. Recommendations from Federal/National, State or local government agencies are lengthy and tedious and consist of gathering individual disaster survival supplies and putting together a kit. This might be the difference between life and death in some cases as we have seen in recent disasters such as Hurricane Katrina on the Gulf Coast and the 1994 Northridge Quake in Southern California.
