Come test out the biggest table in the world

dropping knowledge is looking for 100 volunteers to help test The Table of Free Voices in Berlin. Come be a part of this historic project and be the first to see and sit at the biggest table ever built.

BERLIN, August 28. The non-profit initiative dropping knowledge is looking for 100 volunteers to help test-run the Table of Free Voices this Saturday, September 2.

At 38 meters in diameter, the Table of Free Voices is not only the largest table ever constructed, but will also be the centerpiece of an unprecedented event. On September 9, 2006, 112 of the world’s most inspiring thinkers and activists will take their seats around the Table and answer 100 questions from the global public in historic Bebelplatz square in central Berlin. All of the questions and answers from The Table of Free Voices will be recorded digitally and made freely available to the public online at www.droppingknowledge.org.

Before this can happen, dropping knowledge needs volunteers to help carry out a test of the Table of Free Voices at an undisclosed location in Berlin. Not only will volunteers get hands-on experience with this ambitious, cutting-edge and hi-tech project, but they will also be the first to behold the massive table that will – just one week later – be the site of the biggest round-table event in history.

Again, the test-run will take place on Saturday, September 2, but dropping knowledge also still needs volunteers to help with a variety of tasks at the Table of Free Voices and in the days leading up to the event:

Technical assistance: placing cables, testing cameras, checking data transfer. Preparing for the transmission of more than 650 hours of video material to the dropping knowledge digital platform.Logistics: helping with the transportation of audio-visual equipment, approximately 500 chairs, etc.

Catering, Guest Management: serving the participants, volunteers and guests at the Table of Free Voices.

Security: staff to ensure that the public event situated along one of Berlin´s busiest avenues, Unter den Linden, runs smoothly.

Assembly: Volunteers are needed to help set-up and break-down the Table at Bebelplatz.
