New teddy travel service Teddytours offers trips for soft toys to Austria
After a 2 weeks stay in Vienna, visiting tourism highlights like St. Stephen's Cathedral or Schoenbrunn Palace, teddy bear Joe probably was one of the luckiest soft toys of the world.Offering trips for teddies is not a very common business model. How this idea came up? "First of all I was inspired by the film The Fabulous Destiny of Amelie Poulain", Guenther Lischka, founder of Teddytours explains. "In this film a garden gnome is sent on a trip around the world. Many people have a soft toy somewhere around, which means a lot to them; someone who was always there and gave them a sense of security, joy and warmth. So if somebode want to return the favour can send it on holidays to Vienna."
A teddy tourist group normally consists of 5 to 15 individuals and is visiting the most interesting sightseeing places, attended by an experienced tour guide. The teddy is travelling back with an individually produced photo album with the best snapshots, helping always keep this trip in mind.
Women are the typical customers of Teddytours, but not in all cases, Guenther Lischka states: "We also received orders from males, especially to hand out the photo album as a gift to their wifes or girlfriends."
