3D printed Intake Manifold

3D printed Intake Manifold

For the first time CRP will be attending as speaker the 2018 Open Technology Forum with a study focused on how to increase engine performance with 3D printing and Windform composite materials

This year’s Engine Expo Europe in Stuttgart (5th -7th June) will see worldwide leader in Additive Manufacturing, CRP Technology, showcase how the integration of professional 3D printing solutions, with its Windform® composite materials, throughout design and R&D phases is enabling automotive manufacturers to accelerate vehicles’ development and increase performance.

CRP Technology will be attending the Engine Expo Europe 2018 Open Technology Forum as part of the speaker team. CRP Technology is scheduled to speak on Wednesday June 6th, Engine Expo Technology Demonstration Area, Hall 9, at 12.40 (CEST).

Jose Antonio Almenara, CRP Technology’s Additive Manufacturing Representative, will deliver an insightful presentation on “How to increase engine performance with 3D printing and Windform®”. He will use high-profile customer examples proving how to optimize 3D printing process with CRP Technology’s composite materials and Laser Sintering technology.
Attendees will learn how it’s possible to enhance automotive production by deploying Laser Sintering Technology and Windform® composite materials across a multitude of design and manufacturing applications.

They will also learn about the different opportunities available to race teams, automotive manufacturers, their suppliers and OEMs. How to integrate Additive Manufacturing and professional 3D printing with high performance composite materials into design and R&D activity, meaning: the integration allows to manufacture prototypes and end-use parts with greater complexity and functionality quickly compared to traditional methods. Reducing prototyping cycles allows to verify, iterate and test designs significantly faster and consequently shorten the overall design and product development processes.

Almenara will share CRP Technology’s experiences in pushing the boundaries of conventional design for a revolutionary approach in motorsports and automotive field. They will discuss the production of an intake manifold with LS technology and how it’s possible to mount it to a live engine for testing or racing. He will share CRP’s latest challenge in the manufacturing of a functional NACA duct via 3D printing, and how it helped break a long-standing speed record.

Will be also highlighted how CRP Technology and advanced composite materials for professional 3D printing helped the development of Energica Ego, the World’s first Italian street-legal electric motorcycle.

Energica Ego will be employed by teams at the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup in a tuned version, the Ego Corsa. CRP will keep going on collaborating closely with Energica, to achieve optimal results in a very short time.
The Forum will be held at Messe Stuttgart, Germany, from 5th to 7th June 2018.
