In kytoon type, the turbine uses both balloon and kite arrangement for power generation from high altitude winds, whereas in tethered auto gyro type, the wind turbines are made to float by utilizing a tethered crankshaft, unmanned aerial vehicle, gyrocopter or gyroplane, alongside an unpowered rotor providing thrust.
