French Police Finds a Solution to Strengthen the Technical Skills of Investigators Through EC-Council
10th April 2018, FranceThe 2017 Norton Cybersecurity Insights report showed that France lost €6.1 billion (USD $7.1 billion) to cybercrime, with over 19 million citizens data compromised, an astounding 42% of the population, affected.
In order to combat cybercrime and fend off cyber criminals, IT security professionals from the Police Nationale (French Police), will now be trained and certified in the world-renowned EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA) program.
“To enhance their capabilities to battle cybercrime, the French National Police has joined hands with EC-Council, and EC-Council partners— IT-Gnosis, and Sysdream, to amplify the technical skills of our investigators”, said François Beauvois, from the Central Criminal Investigation Department - French Cyber Crime Center, Cyber Intelligence Unit.
"ECSA is a trusted penetration testing credential and it is a great honor for EC-Council to associate with the Police Nationale. This association is a testimony to the technical superiority encapsulated in the ECSA program", says Sean Lim, Chief Operating Officer, EC-Council.
The ECSA program presents comprehensive methodologies covering different pen testing requirements across different industry verticals. The program provides real world, hands-on penetration testing skill sets that covers the testing of modern infrastructures, operating systems, and application environments while teaching the students how to document and write a penetration testing report.
“Through this certified training program, the French police will be empowered with the most current skills to fight cyber criminals using globally accepted methodologies. This program will enable the French police to apply a suitable methodology to conduct a penetration test, prepare professional penetration testing report, and conduct penetration tests with added confidence”, says Claire Kemp, the exclusive representative of EC-Council in France and several other European countries.
