Introducing Reese’s Pinworm Itch Relief Wipes for instant relief of intense itch

CLEVELAND (May 7, 2018) – Reese’s Pinworm Medicine, part of Reese Pharmaceutical’s product offering since 1986, remains one of the most affordable and highly effective solutions for pinworm, a contagious parasite infection that affects up to 40 million North Americans each year. Enterobius vermicularis (pinworm) is the most common parasitic infection in the U.S. according to the CDC, affecting mainly schoolchildren. Pinworm infection causes uncomfortable itching and rashes that can lead to restlessness, trouble sleeping and loss of appetite.

Physicians have been prescribing medications for years to treat pinworm infection, not realizing how drastically unaffordable the prescriptions have become in just this last decade. Albenza currently costs $195 per dose, while Emverm is at $318 per dose. Reese’s Pinworm Medicine, costs a fraction of what the prescription medicines are charging, at less than $15, and can conveniently be found over-the-counter (OTC) without the need for a prescription.

“The cost to consumers for prescription treatment is astounding. Pinworm is highly contagious, exists year-round, and can be rampant in schools and child care centers. Parents need an affordable treatment that works.” says Casey Reese, Customer Service Manager. “Reese’s Pinworm Medicine offers up to a 95% savings compared to prescription medications and has been successfully treating pinworm for more than 30 years. It features pyrantel pamoate, the only OTC anthelmintic that has been recognized to date by the FDA.”

The company recently announced a new product, Reese’s Pinworm Itch Relief Wipes. They provide a convenient solution for the temporary relief of pain, soreness, itching or discomfort associated with anorectal inflammation. The 1% pramoxine hydrochloride formula provides itch relief while the pinworm medicine is taking effect and keeps contact with pinworms to a minimum with its innovative wipes format. The wipes are re-sealable in on-the-go pouches for instant relief.
