It’s all change for East Durham enterprise agency.

East Durham Business Service (EDBS) have today announced an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to give something back to the community by joining the EDBS Board as Non Executive Directors.

EDBS is the Enterprise Agency for East Durham, working to support the creation and growth of business and employment in the local community.

Previously in partnership with the former Easington District Council, local government reorganisation has provided an opportunity to make EDBS fit for the future as a truly independent Enterprise agency.

Due to the reorganisation a number of vacancies have now become available and EDBS are seeking new Board members who will be proactive and want to achieve a real change in the economic future of East Durham.

EDBS has already seen a number of changes with the introduction of Nigel Hardy as Chair and Peter Chapman as Chief Executive. There is now an air of expectation, excitement and desire for these changes to positively take the company forward.

Nigel Hardy Chair of the Board commented: “This is a great opportunity to join a Board and staff who really want to make a difference within East Durham. Although an unpaid role, we hope that all new Non Executive Directors will bring with them a wealth of knowledge, experience and influence to help guide EDBS to become the voice of business in East Durham”

Peter Chapman Chief Executive added “We are keen to hear from anyone who feels they could add value to the Board and make a real difference to our local community, we would particularly welcome expressions of interest from female entrepreneurs and those with experience in small business development.”

For an information pack please contact Sarah Devine on 0191 5863366 or visit www.edbs.co.uk. Alternatively for an informal discussion please contact Peter Chapman, Chief Executive on 0191 5863366.
