Press release from: Filament Games

MADISON, WI - Filament Games is pleased to announce a new distribution partnership with 5 More Minutes Ltd. (5MM), proprietors of TeacherGaming.com, an innovative K-12 facing storefront whose mission is to put great games in the hands of schools and teachers. Founded by the team behind the wildly successful MinecraftEdu, TeacherGaming.com offers both traditional learning games and consumer games with strong educational crossover potential. Through their newly minted partnership with 5MM, Filament Games will now offer their popular collection of web-based math and science games through the TeacherGaming.com storefront and as part of their game-based learning subscription service.

“We’re excited to extend the reach of our games into new territory through TeacherGaming,” said Dan White, Filament Games CEO. “With their ability to tap into markets like Europe, India and China, TeacherGaming is an ideal partner for driving international adoption of Filament Games content.”

Included in the collection will be 13 Filament Games titles, including award-winning games like Reach for the Sun, Backyard Engineers, and Motion Force. The games cover a variety of STEM topics such as engineering, biology, geology, fractions, chemistry, physics, and more. Like all of the games offered through TeacherGaming.com, the Filament Games collection will be supported by lesson plans that make it quick and easy for educators to integrate game-based learning into their larger curriculum. Educators will also be able to check on student progress and success using TeacherGaming’s analytics dashboards.

“Filament Games strikes the kind of perfect balance between high-quality entertainment and solid pedagogy that is actually quite rare” said Santeri Koivisto, TeacherGaming CEO. “Developed specifically for classroom use, we think their games will be especially great for teachers who are just starting out with their game-based learning journey.”

Starting with fractions learning game Diffission, the Filament Games collection will launch progressively over the course of 2018, so educators and learning game enthusiasts alike should keep an eye on TeacherGaming.com to catch more release information as it becomes available. The titles in the Filament Games collection will be offered through both TeacherGaming’s school-wide subscription offerings and individual game licenses for educators and enthusiasts.
