Chemel AB and ORGANOBALANCE GmbH start business cooperation in Germany
Lund, Sweden / Berlin, Germany, October 16, 2009 – At Biotechnica exhibition in Hannover, 6-8 October 2009, Chemel AB (publ) and ORGANOBALANCE GmbH agreed on a business cooperation of mutual benefit.ORGANOBALANCE is specializing in microbial strain development and microbiological screening. The company develops new biological products in the areas of nutrition, cosmetics, preventive health care, and industrial biotechnology, all based on specific probiotic cultures. In its development activities, the company draws on its own collection of microorganism strains suitable for food applications and its own OASSYS® screening systems.
Chemel works in the field of bioanalysis, providing sensitive, easy-to-use and affordable laboratory analysis systems for foodstuff and bioprocess applications – SIRE® Bio Laboratory Systems, using its in-house developed SIRE® Technology. Chemel AB is the mother company in the Chemel Group, whose product portfolio targets end-users in the biotechnology, clinical and food fields.
The agreement now signed by both companies grants ORGANOBALANCE access to Chemel ´s cutting-edge SIRE® Bio Laboratory analysis systems, a unique class of biosensors, i.e. Sensors based on Injection of the Recognition Element. By means of these systems ORGANOBALANCE will be able to considerably boost speed and outcome of their screening processes and to identify in even shorter time specific probiotic cultures, that meet predefined demands of the nutrition, cosmetics, healthcare, and biotech industry.
For Chemel the cooperation opens valuable opportunities to embark on the important German market and to implement the vision of convincing most reputable and innovative partners to use Chemel´s highly efficient laboratory systems for their measurements of concentrations of different substances in cultivations of microorganisms and in food stuff.
