New Treatment Modality for better dermal remodeling

Press release from: ART.media Public Relations

Syneron Medical Ltd. has presented a groundbreaking treatment modality at the 5-Continent-Congress for Lasers and Aesthetic Medicine in Nice on September 10th, 2009. The company introduced a new and unique treatment modality called Sublative Rejuvenation™, which answers the skin rejuvenation market’s emerging demand for optimal efficiency, minimal downtime and an affordable procedure price point. Next presentation of the Sublative Rejuvenation will be given at the 18th Congress of the Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) in Berlin, Germany.
Recent scientific evaluations using eMatrix™, led to the identification of Sublative Rejuvenation, a new treatment modality that goes beyond current fractional skin ablation and resurfacing methods. “With sublative rejuvenation, the results are remarkable. After 3 treatments we can see remarkable improvement in skin tone, brightness, texture, small wrinkles and even acne scars. As radio waves induce dermal heating and collagen remodelling we can also see tissue tightening with continual improvement in the months to follow. Results from the device make deep chemical peels a thing of the past”, says Dr. Ines Verner, dermatologist from Israel.
Sublative Rejuvenation utilizes a fractionated bi-polar radio frequency technology in which heat energy is effectively placed into the dermis, producing significant dermal remodeling with minimal epidermal disruption. While traditional fractional technologies are most aggressive at the epidermal level, Sublative Rejuvenation delivers energy that creates a triangular-shaped pattern of impact where the ablated zone on the skin’s surface is narrower and minimized. The ablative and particularly coagulative zone widens below the surface, reflecting the higher heating of the deeper zones of the dermal connective tissue and collagen. This specific, sublative targeting maximizes clinical results and reduces downtime and risk of adverse reaction. Increased dermal heating leads to stronger collagenesis, making Sublative Rejuvenation most desirable for wrinkle reduction as well as overall textural improvement and luminosity for all skin types. “Patients think it’s fabulous. They find it to be very tolerable. I like that it works even on old acne scars that have been previously resistant to therapy” says Stephen Bassett, M.D., an aesthetic practitioner and medical director of ShapeCYMRU Swansea, Wales, U.K.
“Before the introduction of Sublative Rejuvenation with eMatrix, I needed to be extremely careful when performing any kind of ablative or even non-ablative treatment on my patients with darker skin tones because of possible adverse reactions,” said Hema Sundaram, M.D., F.A.A.D., a board certified dermatologist in Washington, D.C. “In my experience with eMatrix, there have been no cases of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, the most common complication observed when performing any type of laser resurfacing treatment on patients with darker skin tones. This finding is unique and extremely exciting.”
