Aid response of 1 billion Dollars: UNITAID and Scholz & Volkmer say "Thank you" with an international campaign
Scholz & Volkmer accompanies the international "Thank You" campaign of UNITAID, an institution hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO). With its 29 member countries, it is dedicated to the acquisition of medicine against three of the world’s most lethal diseases: HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis. Since its founding in 2006, UNITAID has received almost one billion Dollars of funds. These enormous grants meant global access to vital medication could be fundamentally improved. As a way of saying "Thank you", the innovative funding facility now launches an international campaign that highlights achievements already enabled through the subsidies received.UNITAID is mostly funded by a small levy on airline tickets applied by the membership countries. This sparked the creative idea of the campaign: "Follow the paper aeroplane on its journey." The campaign’s start marks a multilingual web special at www.unitaid.eu/thankyou. The user embarks on a cinematic trip to destinations the organization is active in, accompanied by a paper plane that follows him to every station as a symbol for the help of UNITAID.
The German agency Scholz & Volkmer has developed the central creative idea for the whole campaign and the concept for the online communication, including the web special and an accompanying banner campaign. The campaign will be expanded to further media, such as the in-flight-TV of different airlines, TV-spots as well as print ads and billboard advertising.
