Paolo Grassi with Fire and Water "ignites" the MIA Photo Fair 2018 in Milan
Milan, Italy, April 4, 2018 - Great appreciation of the public for Paolo Grassi's photographs, proposed at the recently concluded edition of MIA Photo Fair at The Mall in Milan Porta Nuova with the project "Da fuoco e acqua".During the international exhibition dedicated to art photography, the exhibition space of the photographer was crowded by an attentive audience who appreciated the images printed manually with an innovative technique developed by Paolo Grassi himself, derived from an ancient photographic process, called "resinotype".
In contrast to the original printing process of the early 1900s, the "resin-pigmentype", as the author has named it, uses only natural, non-toxic and environmentally friendly products such as carbon black pigment and water.
The audience listened attentively to the illustration of the process of realization of the works given by the artist present at the exhibition and was particularly fascinated by the transformation of the latent image into a visible image by means of a pigment distributed with the brush on the sheet of watercolor paper.
A particular appreciation concerned photographic images with essential forms and others, almost abstract, performed "with a process of removing the superfluous", as Grassi defines them, according to a principle similar to that with which Michelangelo performed his own works.
A great effect on the public has also had a direct view of the prints made on sheets of watercolor paper mounted in an essential way with which the effect of the relief tones was perceived, almost like a three-dimensional photograph.
Paolo Grassi thanks the scientific committee of the MIA Photo Fair, composed by Fabio Castelli, Gigliola Foschi, Roberto Mutti and Enrica Viganò for the admission of their project within the "Proposal MIA" exhibition section.
During the exhibition the author presented the book "Architettura della fotografia" which illustrates his artistic journey started at the end of the 70s of the twentieth century, in which Paolo Grassi compares photographic, artistic and architectural languages from the perspectives bibliographies of Umberto Eco, Le Corbusier, Pierre Restany, and the catalog "MIA Photo Fair 2018, from fire and water" both available in the main online bookstores (IBS, Amazon and La Feltrinelli) in paper or e-book versions.

Architectural Guide Chile
The fact that Chilean architecture has made a comeback on the global stage with modern masterpieces and interesting concepts – particularly over the past fifteen years – can be put down to architects such as the Pritzker laureate Alejandro Aravena, who curated the Venice Architectural Biennale in 2016. However, this is also due to less well-known architects, such as Mathias Klotz, Smiljan Radic and Pezo von Ellrichsausen.
