Speaking to all four major television networks and Hispanic cable stations, Imperato stated "Our country is adrift at home and abroad, and we must act with a sense of urgency to pull our nation back from the brink. Today we are offering the American people a third way--a new politics of truth." Asked if his independent candidacy included plans for a new third party, Imperato stated that "the possibility of forming a new party cannot be ruled out." Underscoring, the aggressive tilt of his candidacy, Imperato told news reporters "I have been building a campaign team, meeting with foreign government and business leaders, securing endorsements, launched our website, opened discussions with independent and third parties and formulated an agenda on the major issues before the American people. It's twenty-eight months until election day. We have a clear mission and strategy to be at the finish line in November 2008." Webster Brooks, Imperato's Vice-Presidential running mate, stated that "A new majority of the American electorate that wants to reform our broken political system and shift the direction of the nation's public policy agenda is now coalescing outside of the two-party system." The 48 year-old Imperato, is the Chairman and CEO of Imperiali Inc, a global business consulting and development company in the areas of telecommunications infrastructure, strategic partnerships, and investments. Imperato, filed papers with the Federal Elections Commission in January to run for president.
