Connecting USB devices into the network

Press release from: Assmann Electronic GmbH

Network USB Hub DN-13009

Network USB Hub DN-13009

Most PCs are not equipped with a sufficient number of USB ports. There are often no free ports for devices such as a cell phone, scanner, web cam and so on, after connecting the keyboard, mouse and printer. The simplest solution of the USB port extension are accessible USB hubs which can be used to more than double the number of ports.

In addition to the already known DIGITUS® hubs, which can be connected directly to the PC or notebook, DIGITUS® now offers a network USB hub. This hub enables USB 2.0 devices to be connected directly into the network. This means that multi-functional printers, scanners, loudspeakers, hard disks, card readers etc. can be addressed centrally from a PC or via the network.

The supplied software is used for configuration to link up to four USB 2.0 devices into the network, either wirelessly (by Wireless LAN Router) or by using cables. The web browser or the software can be used to monitor the connected devices.

The LAN connection rate is 10/100 Mbps. The hub is also downwards compatible with older USB devices. Automatic log into the network is by DHCP client. The dimensions of 12.8 x 7.2 x 2.2cm turn the glossy black USB network hub into a real eye catcher.

"Demanding technology becomes more and more attractive. At last, high value devices do not need to be hidden, but indeed become part of the design concept", says Till Brauckmann, Marketing Manager of DIGITUS®.

The recommended retail price is € 53,99.

Dealers can obtain further information from www.digitus.info. DIGITUS® products can be purchased by dealers from the usual distributors.
