| Pressemitteilung von: BITS Pilani Rajasthan | ||
Sanjay Singh lived his life with one simple philosophy “It does not matter how many people get to know you when you are alive. What matters is how many people remember you when you are dead”. He took his inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi quote “Live as if you were to die tomorrow and learn as if you were to live forever.” While the world over celebrated United Nations’ International Youth Day on 12 August 2009, friends, well wishers from various industries in Bangalore, colleagues in academia at Birla Institute of Technology and Science - BITS Pilani as well as at off campus centres spread across India and thousands of students from work integrated learning programs and Practice School program of BITS particularly from Bangalore off campus centre were shocked to know that the ever smiling Sanjay Singh was no more. Sanjay Singh was born on 01 July 1969. Armed with a Masters in Physics, Sanjay Singh started his association with BITS Pilani as a research scholar and from 11 March 2005 to 15 January 2009 served as off campus faculty member of BITS Pilani Bangalore off campus centre. From 16 January 2009 to 12 August 2009 he was part of the BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus Faculty team. During his stay at Bangalore, Sanjay Singh spear headed an array of activities which included coordinating various collaborative programs of BITS Pilani at lead industries in Bangalore such as Texas Instruments, Tata Elxsi, Yahoo!, SAP Labs, Intel, DELL, Honeywell, Strides ArcoLabs etc apart from Practice School at several companies located in and around Bangalore which hosted hundreds of students from BITS for carrying out their final year Project Work. He was responsible for conducting the mid semester and comprehensive examinations for thousands of work integrated learning programs of students each semester during his stay at Bangalore. Various off campus Program coordinators of BITS which included Prof CH Ramesh Kumar from Bangalore, Prof BV Prasad from Pune, Dr G Venkiteswaran and Miss Bharathi from Chennai, Prof BR Murthy from Hyderabad, Prof HS Jabbal and Dr Arun Maity from Kolkata, Mr Pavan Kumar Potdar from Mumbai, Dr MD Arora from Delhi who had come to Pilani to attend the Town Hall Meeting and Workshop pertaining to Vision 2020: Mission 2012 project were visibly moved on hearing the untimely and sad demise of Sanjay Singh. Prof G Sundar Dean Practice School Division at BITS Pilani had words of praise for the dynamism of Sanjay Singh and Prof BR Natarajan Dean Work Integrated Learning programs Division at BITS Pilani ran short of words to describe Sanjay Singh’s stellar contribution in strengthening the industry university collaborative activities at Bangalore. How do geese know when to fly to the sun? Who tells them the seasons? How do we, humans know when it is time to move on? As with the migrant birds, so surely with us, there is a voice within if only we would listen to it, that tells us certainly when to go forth into the unknown. From God Almighty, Sanjay Singh heard the voice on 12 August 2009 which became his date with destiny and all that one can do is to pray “May his soul rest in Eternal Peace” About Author: Dr BR Natarajan is a cyber journalist who writes, who writes on matters close to his heart Dr BR Natarajan Professor & Vice President BITSAA BITS Pilani Rajasthan 333031 India Phone 91-1596-242210 Fax 91-1596-244183 Email: brnt@bits-pilani.ac.in Website: www.bits-pilani.ac.in |
