Hyundai unveils first Combo HD Digital TV Recorder

New Zealand’s first Combo Satellite/Terrestrial HD Personal Video Recorder (PVR) has been released from Hyundai and will be available from Freeviewshop from the 15th December. The AH-3110 has the unique advantages of being able to receive both the New Zealand Freeview satellite service and the HD UHF service, while also having the ability to record from either service by connecting to an external USB HDD.

While Personal Video Recorders for use with the Freeview Satellite service have been around for some time, the new Hyundai can now record from the Freeview High Definition UHF service also, allowing programmes to be recorded in high definition quality. High Definition TV delivers the highest quality picture available, together with surround sound.

The Hyundai has full EIT EPG support allowing programmes to be scheduled for recording from either the Freeview Satellite or the Freeview HD service. The receiver can be connected to an existing UHF aerial and/ or Satellite dish to start watching TV in crystal clear, digital quality. When connected to both, the satellite 7 day EPG can be used to schedule programmes to be recorded from either the satellite service or the terrestrial service.

The Hyundai AH-3110 also has time shift and live pause features which allows viewers to pause and rewind live TV then resume watching where they left off. Viewers no longer need be tied to the schedule and can now watch what they want, when they want, with unparalleled picture quality.

With some Freeview channels in New Zealand only being available on one or the other service such as Chinese TV 8 and TV Central only on the UHF service, and Stratos, CUE and Te Reo only on the satellite service, the new Hyundai is capable of receiving all Freeview Channels available along with channels from other satellites such as the Optus D2 satellite (30 + FTA channels). Freeview HD is available in nine major centres (Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Napier, Hastings, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin).
