(openPR) - Montech draws a positive balance of its participation in Fakuma 2008, recording increasing interest for its transport system Montrac.

“The issue of intralogistics is becoming more and more important,” says Yves Dicke, Manager Montrac, Montech. This was quite clear at Fakuma 2008, where the Montrac transport system aroused much interest. More and more companies are willing to deploy automated solutions to transfer small plastic parts produced by their injection molding presses.

Conventional Montrac applications in the plastics industry are found in warehouse logistics and secondary process logistics. “Normally, the parts are transported manually or by means of fork-lift trucks to a buffer area, waiting to be transferred to the packaging department,” says Dicke.
With Montrac, the parts produced by the injection molding presses can be carried directly to the packaging area. The empty boxes are sent to the presses using a just-in-time method. Just-in-sequence and just-in-time transport, based on Chaos Technology to assign the final destinations of each shuttle, can be adopted with an affordable investment.

According to Dicke, another benefit of this solution is that possible flaws and quality issues are identified immediately, thus minimizing production scraps.

Montech AG markets basic modular components that automate demanding production and logistics processes. In addition to conventional conveyor belts, automation components and the Quick-Set profile system, the range of products also includes the Montrac transport system. Montrac is an intelligent transport system for networking industrial production and logistics processes. Founded in 1963, the company is based in Switzerland and stands for innovation in the automation industry.
