| Pressemitteilung von: ControlGuard | ||
EAM 4.1 provides features to prevent data breaches, administer strong Data Loss Prevention (DLP) on endpoints, and prevent abuses related to removable storage devices. Using EAM policies, USB, DVD/CD drives, WiFi, infrared, and Bluetooth as well as a host of peripherals and media devices are monitored and secured. ControlGuard EAM software version 4.1 further bolsters the advances achieved in version 4.0 by giving companies greater granularity for defining where and when to authorize copying or transmission of data to and from portable devices. This applies to wireless access to trusted security zones as well as specific portable devices and flash disks. “We had a defining moment on what version 4.1 should provide our customers so they could step out of the one-size-fits all security dilemma that cramps day-to-day operations. We accomplished that goal with EAM 4.1,” says ControlGuard’s CEO Israel Levy. “The result is a more business-friendly endpoint security software that can better monitor, manage and secure information with greater flexibility than ever before.” EAM 4.1 has three newly added, major features: - Greater policy refinement capability, including both positive and negative security policies - Extensive VPN and offline endpoint security policies for securing remote users in the field - Granular policy control over the 'Autorun' threat of removable storage and optical drives (CD/DVD) “During this troubling financial crisis and times of political uncertainty generated by this year’s historic US election, we see greater job uncertainty for so many. The last thing a company wants is employees driven by fear of being unemployed to start amassing gigabytes of data on a flash disk for exploitive reasons. Now more than ever endpoint security is a center stage security issue,” said Levy. “To help raise awareness, we are giving away a free IT tool scanner on our Web site so IT security can examine the breadth of the problem.” The most significant newly added features on the EAM product line, is the layered positive and negative security policy capabilities that makes applying security policies to the endpoints on a computer, such as USB ports, more precise and flexible for real world security. This dual approach provides more comprehensive capabilities that break away from the troubles of blanket security solutions. Using a negative security policy provides the ability to restrict privileges while a layered positive security policy allows exemptions to the negative security policy. Because this is designed for full granularity, a high degree of policy control is possible. EAM protects tens of thousand of users worldwide. This includes major enterprises such as top financial institutions, government security agencies, international insurance, and military, as well as small and medium businesses.
