The Ecology Center Announces Groundbreaking Event |
| Pressemitteilung von: The Ecology Center |
| (openPR) - SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA – The Ecology Center Founder Evan Marks and fellow volunteers would like to extend a warm, heartfelt invitation to the entire Orange County community to attend its groundbreaking event at the city of San Juan Capistrano’s South Coast Farms on Thursday, November 13th. The special event and all-organic luncheon – prepared from the farm’s very own fresh, certified organic produce – will begin at 11:00 a.m. to commence the nonprofit organization’s mission of providing all OC area residents a transformative, eco-educational learning experience through educational programming and opportunities. “Our list of invitees includes city, county and education department officials, our non-profit organizations and corporate partners as well as local businesses and residents,” explained Marks. “Bringing these various groups together gives me the opportunity to stress the urgency of making community-scale changes, and hopefully, to inspire and rally support behind what The Ecology Center is trying to accomplish – that is, heightening awareness and getting people involved in maintaining an ecologically sound environment via practical, eco-friendly solutions.” This public unveiling of The Ecology Center promises to draw distinguished guests and officials from many of Orange County’s communities including San Juan Capistrano Mayor Joe Soto, Orange County Supervisor Patricia Bates, Ocean Institute Executive Vice-President Harry Helling, U.S. Green Building Council Chair Jorden Segraves and South Coast Farms Owner and Founder George Kibby. “Most importantly, I want to introduce the community to The Ecology Center and to how powerful and vital opportunities of collectively redesigning how we perceive and connect to the environment are to Orange County’s future,” added Marks. Additionally, The Ecology Center’s kickoff is aimed to generate donor support by enrolling local businesses, organizations and residents in becoming active members and sponsors of The Ecology Center. Especially in the midst of a troubled economy, financial contributions will be key toward supporting and providing resources for on-site exhibits, demonstrations and “green living” educational outreach programs. “Now is the time to act,” Marks said. “Only together can we create a powerful center of hope and practical solutions for Orange County and the rest of the Southern California region.” If interested in attending, please RSVP to reserve your spot by emailing info@theecologycenter.org, or calling (949)443-4223. Centrally located in the suburb of San Juan Capistrano, The Ecology Center at South Coast Farms is an upcoming venture conceived by founder Evan Marks as a hub of possibility for both the people and environment of Southern California. With the support of local volunteers, the nonprofit organization is currently underway in developing a unique and poignant eco-conscious learning facility. Located in San Juan Capistrano, The Ecology Center seeks to inspire and involve people in the stewardship of Southern California’s environment, providing education in sustainable agriculture, ecological design and the heritage of San Juan Capistrano.
