"Revision" is an audio-visual installation for a window. A projection screen shows a view outside of a window pretending to be a real window. Slowly, the view outside starts changing, in ever more impossible ways. The interiors of apartments in the building across the street mutate into a forest. The façade of that building transforms into a wall-papered interior. The street turns into an interior of an apartment. A view through a window becomes a framed painting inside a room. The installation addresses the difference between the acts of seeing and perceiving. There is a triangle relationship between the urban public space, a private interior and a natural environment, with no clear distinction between their borderlines. Urban architecture behaves much like a natural force, with rooms being flooded by pulsing red lights, street lamps providing sunshine and facades or entire interiors slowly melting away into exteriors. This interaction has the focus in "Revision". Julia Willms was born 1974 in Wilhelmshaven, and she studied media art by Bernhard Leitner in Vienna. Willms participated in many notable video festivals, and she is considered to be one of the most upcoming talents in video arts. "Revision" will also be seen in September at the bodig08 Festival in Istanbul and in October at the VAD Festival in Girona. Title: Julia Willms - "Revision".
