WDR (West German Radio and Television) Digitization of microfilm production records with DRS DIGITIZER |
||
| Pressemitteilung von: DRS Digitale Repro-Systeme GmbH | ||
From a total of 17,000 microfilm jackets, 10,000 earmarked for scanning had to be sorted out and some 130,000 documents digitized. The procedure: The fully automatic DRS DIGITIZER provided the decisive advantage, negating the need for time-consuming and labor-intensive manual sorting. Within a very short space of time all 17,000 jackets were digitized in fully automatic batch-processing mode. The jackets were then indexed and reconciled with WDR's electronic archive database, with the data not intended for processing being simultaneously filtered out and deleted. Original records that could not be indexed unambiguously were quickly passed on to WDR to decide how they should be handled. During the digitization process, DRS ensured that any records required by WDR were provided within eight hours.
