More Women Business Owners (WBO) Chapters forming in Northern California |
||
| Pressemitteilung von: Women Business Owners | ||
Beginning this month, Christina Wiley, owner of Christina Wiley Enterprises and an Irresistible Woman Coach, is in the process of forming new business chapters for Women Business Owners (WBO) in Northern California. When asked why she wanted to become a Chapter Leader for WBO, Christina replied, “Working from home I don’t have many opportunities to get out and meet other people, like in a traditional job. I enjoy meeting other women, I want to help them with resources; I love WBO and the support they provide for other women.” Christina continues to explain, “There is a real need for someone to take over these meetings. Women in our area need these meetings--they need what WBO has to offer and at an affordable price. These women need a place where they are able to meet in this area to find the networking, camaraderie and business support they desire in a face-to-face situation. Having been raised in this area, I realize this need and feel that WBO is meeting this need and at a price that women in business or just starting their business are able to afford.” Dr. Rev Jenine Miana Marie Kent, who had started these meetings, is moving to Napa County and intends to start WBO business chapters in that area. Rev. Jenine soon realized the benefits that these meetings are providing for the women attending and how great the need is in this area for these women. Women can come together to improve their skills or gain the skills that will help them in their business. They will be provided with the ability to foster referrals or learn how to gain referrals in their business because referrals are a great way to grow your business. When people come together with a common goal or need – there is great power in that – to share with others in an environment that fosters personal & business growth. WBO is setting itself apart from other networking groups. WBO is more affordable than other groups and because WBO is so supportive, we make a difference in women’s business and personal life. Some of the differences in our meetings include no pressure on you to provide referrals. WBO provides a comfortable, personable environment with a positive, exciting, empowering atmosphere. The women instantly have many things in common – commonality and camaraderie, for example. The women share resources and knowledge without intense pressure to perform a certain way. Christina says, “WBO is providing safe, secure places where women are able to feel comfortable and are free to be themselves. They can share knowledge and ask questions while gaining the knowledge they need to succeed in their business and personal lives. Some of the goals are to incorporate networking with learning time and have an educational segment. The evening meetings will be “girls night out” theme and will have a more relaxed atmosphere than the daytime meetings. The daytime meetings will be only an hour and being in the middle of the day, we don’t want to interfere too much with the actual “running” of your business.” Learn about WBO’s Building Project (Christina was the winner of the Logo Contest for the Building Project) and what’s available after we become a chapter. Part of Christina’s vision is to empower women not only in their business but as women. Christina will be having meetings in 4 locations. Fairfield, Sacramento, Vacaville and Woodland. Fairfield meetings are held at noon on the last Monday of the month at Marie Calendars, 1750 Travis Boulevard, Fairfield, CA 94533. Sacramento meetings are held at noon on the last Thursday of the month at Applebee’s Restaurant, Natomas, 3601 Truxel Road, Sacramento, CA 95833 Vacaville meetings are held from 7-8:30pm on the 2nd Friday of the month at the Olive Garden Restaurant, 100 NutTree Parkway, Vacaville, CA 94687. Woodland meetings are held from 7-8:30pm on the 3rd Friday of the month at Casa deSapore, 929 Court Street, Woodland, CA 95695. The meetings are free; members only need to pay for their meals. Christina is looking for committed members to lead the meetings. Participation is welcome from members to assist with organizing the meetings and planning chapter events. The meetings will consist of the typical 30 or 60 minute introduction with a twist – while the woman is giving her introduction the other woman write down a word of encouragement or something they appreciate or admire about that woman on the back of their business card and pass their business card onto that woman. In this way, each woman receives a business card from the other women with a note and it sets the tone for the meeting to be encouraging. There will be WBO announcements about events or the building project; memberships/support; chapter & what & how we are working toward becoming a chapter. Lunch meetings need the educational segment; evening meetings are longer. There will be time for networking; a training segment; sometimes a speaker, coach, trainer, with encouragement to take those tips that are being learned, how to go out and apply them to get your desired results in your business. Members come from a variety of businesses – each have something different to offer. One woman owns a contracting company; another, a direct sales company; another creates hand made, custom cards. There are a few women in direct sales; some are reps of larger companies. Most are home-based and small business owners. WBO does not exclude any woman based on industry or company – WBO believes people connect differently with different people and there are plenty of opportunities to connect. We do not have competition—we foster an environment of acceptance. We are not putting a limit or cap on the number of members. The chosen locations are expandable. As the meetings grow, locations may change to accommodate the members. An open invitation from Christina, “I would just like to say that I am so excited to be here and be part of this and bring this opportunity to women in our area. Women business owners reading this – if you want support in your business, if you want to be empowered as a woman business owner, if you want to increase your skills or share your knowledge with other women, I want to invite you to the Solano, Yolo, Sacramento (also known as SYS) WBO Chapter here in Northern California.” WBO President and Founder, Anna Campbell says, “We are working on providing buildings/office space for women to operate their businesses from. WBO will be able to purchase vacant buildings in targeted cities with the support of national and local contributions and donations. WBO will renovate these buildings to accommodate a minimum of 10 office spaces, 1 boardroom, and an open front area for a receptionist. (1 office space will be used for a WBO Branch Office). We will rent out each space for $200-$1,000 (depending on size of space) a month for return revenue. Each office will be equipped with internet service, phone jack and one phone answering line.” WBO’s motto is, “We are building businesses, one building at a time!” Planned upcoming events for WBO include an online event, The JULY EXPO, where women will learn, shop, laugh, and network in an online conference room. Women from all walks of life will be joining together to grow their business, meet other women, and share what they have learned through networking. This year’s event runs for three days: Thursday, July 17 – Saturday July 19, 2008. Times are: Thursday & Friday 7:30am-6pm PST/10:30am-9pm EST, Saturday 7:30am-2:30pm, PST/10:30am-5:30pm EST.
