Mc Donald's in Chernobyl

Pressemitteilung von: Alliance "Ohne Kontrolle"
(openPR) - Four days before the 22th anniversary of the accident of Chernobyl

While our last extended tour through the area of Chernobyl (on April the 22th, 4 days before the 22th anniversary of the accident of Chernobyl), we found this information sign. It declares that the "Mcdonalds Ukraine Ltd" is planning to build an new restaurant in close proximity to the contaminated zone. It is saying in english and ukraine language: "New store under construction - to serve you better in 2008!".

Another text on the board is declaring that this project is even co-financed by the Ukraine fonds for regional development.

The sign is loacated on the main road to the zone, 1 km in front of the first checkpoint, which controles all in and outgoing traffic. It is fixed to an old "welcome to the area of chernobyl" - sign, a wall with an artistic relief in the typical sowiet propaganda style.

Until now, both the entrepreneurship of the Mcdonalds Ukraine Ltd as well as Ukraine authorities didn't comment on this project.

To make this impious act public, we need to send this press release.
