A New Voice of The Pacific |
||
| Pressemitteilung von: Tamar McLeod Sinclair | ||
Being one of the few solo female artists to hark out of New Zealand to take on the European market, Tamar`s brave and extraordinary journey in Europe reaches from the dark eastern mountains of Tatra, Slovakia, to the formidable west coast of Cape Finisterre, Spain. Attending many workshops across Europe: L`Association Art Musique Européenne with Mr. Peter Elkus, France; Kal`i Cerchen (Black Star) Roma (gypsy) theatre company Romathan, Slovakia; Enrique Vargas and the Teatro De Los Sentidos (Theatre of The Senses), Spain; Ralf Peters of the Roy Hart Theatre, Germany; Ida Kelarova and the International School for Human Voice, Czech Republic; Bentzion (B.Z.) Goldberg with The Tuscany Project, Italy; Tamar's sound is uniquely her own and she is influenced by the deep and rich experience of her travels. In her compositions and recording projects, Tamar's music is strongly from her Polynesian roots. She works with the aim to "give people an opportunity to connect to the beautiful and simple way of life". Blending the waters of Maori and European culture in her latest project Karanga, Tamar rocked the boat in her native homeland of New Zealand, by challenging traditional views held by Maori and creating moves when presented to European festivals, grenzgang & MUNDOlogia. Whether singing in the main piazza of Cortona in Tuscany, Italy or an intimate setting of a sacred chapel, Tamar naturally touches the spirits of young and old. Her dynamic performances captivate and provoke a spectrum of emotions from the listener; from the highest praise, to the most extreme criticism. Sharing her truth with courage and tenderness, Tamar invites her audience to explore for themselves the ‘impossible’ and to 'question and answer' past and future. The official Karanga CD Release Party will be held 5pm on Sunday 24th Febuary 2008 at the Lebewohlfabrik in Zurich, Switzerland and Tamar’s highly anticipated debut album of new music from her extraordinary journey in Europe is planned for production and release in 2008. “Brava on all sides.” Mr. Peter Elkus International Maestro L’Association Art Musique Européenne, Nice, France.
