Topics covered include the most common predator lures, defending personal boundaries, how to spot a "tricky" person, "10 Safety Rules for Every Parent and Child," "9 Red Flags," and many other safety tips and guidelines for parents. Safely Ever After, Inc. also trained P.E.A.C.E of Mind’s staff to field common questions from parents, such as how to address family members or strangers who interact with their child in potentially inappropriate ways. Pattie Fitzgerald, Safely Ever After's founder and child safety educator says, “Safely Ever After is extremely honored to have developed a curriculum for P.E.A.C.E of Mind. I know their enthusiasm and commitment will go far to protect kids in their community." P.E.A.C.E. (Parent Education and Child Empowerment) of Mind (www.pomwa.org) will teach the curriculum at schools, PTAs, community organizations, and private homes, aiming to reduce the number of child predator victims in their state. Kim Estes, P.E.A.C.E. of Mind's Director of Outreach says, “As a new organization we were looking to adopt a prevention program, but most of what we saw was focused on out-dated concepts like ‘stranger-danger’ and ‘how to fight a predator.’ I knew there had to be so much more to teaching this topic. When finally came across Pattie Fitzgerald and Safely Ever After, we knew we’d found our answer. "Being a mom shouldn't mean you're living in constant fear." Fitzgerald says her program departs from traditional advice ("don't talk to strangers") because, "According to the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children, sexual abuse is often committed by someone the child knows. We need to start teaching kids that it's not what people look like, but what they say or want to do that makes someone or something unsafe." Having partnered with P.E.A.C.E. of Mind, Safely Ever After says it plans to create similar programs for child advocacy groups, schools, and community organizations across the country. “We'll continue to teach our own programs too, but by partnering with outside organizations we can protect even more kids from predators. And that's really the ultimate goal," says Fitzgerald. ### Media Contact: Livia Squires, Publicist Squires Public Releations (310) 273-4340 contact@squirespr.com About Safely Ever After, Inc. - Safely Ever After, Inc. provides up-to-date information and prevention education programs to help empower families against child predators.
