The Award was presented at the Scottish Software Awards, on 23rd November at the Raddisson SAS in Glasgow. The Awards represent the cream of the Scottish Software industry. Greg Soper, MD of SalesAgility.com, the organisers of the Scottish Open Source Awards, said, “The quality of the entries were very high, the judges finally decided on J P Morgan for their contributions to the Apache Server; and Enterprise Management Consulting (EMC) Ltd who are a home grown Scottish software company with its Headquarters on the Isle of Lewis. It was very much an Elephant and Mouse victory for the first year's Award.” Other entries for the Scottish Open Source Excellence Award included: EPCC, Edinburgh; Gladserv, Aberdeen; Penguin Factory, Glasgow; Suretec, Aberdeen; and Xtrahost, Edinburgh.
