Fountain Steriliser Eliminates Risk of Acquiring Legionnaires’ Disease

“Hydra Fountain Clear is proven to wipe-out 99.9% of the Legionella pneumophila population, the pathogen known for causing Legionnaires’ Disease,” said John Edgar, Director of Hydra International. L. pneumophila thrives in temperatures between 25 º– 45º C and can travel airborne at least 6 km from its source. Though the disease may occur at any time of the year, the risk of outbreaks is higher in the summer.
“The steriliser was also found to have the same efficacy in killing other disease-causing microbes such as Pseudomonas aerginosa, Staphylococcus, Micrococcus luteus, Streptococcus agalactiae and Escherichia coli,” said Edgar. “Besides eliminating pathogens, it also clears the water of algae, slime, scum and mould.”
Although the steriliser will not cause any harm to pets or animals that drink water treated with it, the use of Hydra Fountain Clear is not recommended in water features with fish, plants or invertebrates.
