HARDWARE+TOOLS MIDDLE EAST 2012 GETS OFF TO BUSTLING START

Dubai Municipality presentation on Sustainability and Green Building Codes
The 13th edition of Hardware+Tools Middle East, the only dedicated trade show and conference for hardware, tools, material and machinery in the wider Middle East region, got off to a bustling start yester-day (Tuesday, May 8th 2012). The three-day run of the Epoc Messe Frankfurt-organised trade fair was inaugurated by H.E. Sami Al Qamzi, Director General, Department of Economic Development at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Interest in the region from leading international manufacturers and suppliers is being driven by a large number of infrastructural projects that are underway or currently in the pipeline. Hardware+Tools Middle East is increasingly regarded as the ideal access point to tap into the promising Middle Eastern market.
Hardware+Tools Middle East 2012 features the latest trends and developments driving the global indus-try. Exhibitors are using the event as a platform to showcase the latest range in energy-saving and envi-ronmentally friendly products, as developers from around the world increasingly opt for greener solu-tions.
“Hardware+Tools Middle East serves as a medium to convey the latest global developments in the industry to the local market,” said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of organiser Epoc Messe Frankfurt. “This year’s edition, with its range of exhibitors and fringe programs that encourage increased awareness of industry best practices, will continue to serve as a catalyst for the ongoing evolution of the field.”
Among the exhibitors expecting good results this year was Al Fajer Est., who were looking to strengthen their presence across the UAE with their range of paints and hardware tools. Sales Manager Konda Raju, said: “We expect a favourable response this year as usual. We are concentrating on widening our brands in the UAE market.“
Another exhibiting great optimism at the beginning of the show was Charlie Lu, Sales Manager of Zhang Jiagang Yitai Aluminum Manufacture Co., Ltd., from China. “This is the second year for us at Hard-ware+Tools Middle East and we expect a good number of customers for our line of ladders.“
Regular exhibitor to Hardware+Tools Middle East is Arwani Trading Company who are prominent with their range of power tools, concrete cutters and other hardware tools. Sales Manager Hani Arwani was looking forward to an extremely successful outing at this year’s event.
The Middle East Construction Forum featuring a comprehensive program comprises of a series of presentations, seminars and workshops specifically designed for construction industry professionals. Eng. Essa Al Maidoor, Assistant Director for Engineering and Planning of Dubai Municipality opened the forum with a presentation on ‘Sustainability and Green Buildings – Dubai Municipality Code’, during which he outlined the new rules and regulations which will be implemented for new building standards from 2013.
Hardware+Tools Middle East 2012 which features 200 plus exhibitors has three main focus areas, namely: Tools, Machinery and Hardware. The Tools category showcases: Power Tools and Accessories, Hand Tools and Accessories, Air Tools and Accessories, Measuring and Detection Tools, Hydraulic Tools, Specialty Tools and Magnetic Tools.
The Machinery segment includes cleaning, moulding, drilling, cutting, welding and soldering products as well as safety products, components and parts, automation and robotics, design software, CNC rout-ing and lathes. Additionally, the Hardware category features exhibits of building hardware, consumables and construction and building materials in general.
The Demo Area, where trade visitors and prospective buyers can view various products and machinery in action was proving to be a popular draw on the opening day. Among the participants were Arwani Trading Company with a range of German-made concrete repair and waterproofing products and Einhell Germany with their latest stone and marble cutting machinery.
Among the early birds looking for products was Richard Brooks from the UK, who was in search of new tools. “I feel that the exhibition is much better than last year in terms of scope and feel,“ he said.
Clement Ikejiofor from Nigeria was at Hardware+Tools Middle East for the first time and was impressed by what he saw. “I am here scouting for suppliers of tools, hardware and machinery and am quite pleased with what’s available,“ he said.
Hardware+Tools Middle East which opened today, will run at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre until Thursday, May 10th.
