Amper 2007 in Prague: battery-free and wireless EnOcean easyfit switch element awarded "Golden Amper" |
| Pressemitteilung von: EnOcean GmbH |
| (openPR) - The "Golden Amper 2007" (Zlaty Amper) was awarded to the battery-free and wireless switch element, EnOcean easyfit, as the best trade fair exhibit at the Amper 2007 in Prague. At the 15th International Electrotechnics and Electronics Trade Fair held from 27 – 30 March 2007, Czech distributor "WM OCEAN" presented EnOcean’s revolutionary technology for building installations to more than 50,000 visitors attracted to the event by a wide variety of product innovations and current trends. The EnOcean universal element operates entirely without batteries and thus needs no maintenance. Used with a switch actuator, it can switch consumer loads wirelessly to achieve transmission ranges typically of 30m in buildings and up to 300m in free space. Using an integrated energy generator, the EnOcean radio switches are powered with each press of the button. EnOcean easyfit easily fits into the appropriate design frame and can be screwed or glued to a wall – cutting holes and installing wall boxes for light and roller-blind switches has thus become a thing of the past, saving two thirds of the wiring typically required in a building. In the Czech Republic, the innovative technology is sold via the specialised distributor, WM OCEAN. Along with the easily installed end products for building automation, WM OCEAN also offers the technology modules, including miniaturised energy generators and radio components for integration in different OEM products. Andreas Schneider, Sales Manager of EnOcean GmbH, explains, "The 'Goldener Amper' was awarded for a batteryless radio sensor technology that is already firmly established in building automation worldwide and promises considerable marketing opportunities in the rapidly growing Czech renovation market. The wireless sensors operate on the “energy harvesting“ principle: easily and flexibly installed, they are self-powered by energy freely available in the ambient air without wasting ecologically harmful batteries. They thus meet the requirements of builders, facility managers and electricians: building projects can be implemented in the shortest possible time, investment and operating costs are reduced, and there is no need for system maintenance." Headquartered in Oberhaching near Munich, EnOcean GmbH is the originator and producer of the award-winning, patented basic technology of "batteryless radio sensors". Its unique combination of miniaturised energy harvesters with highly reliable radio technology enables flexible wireless sensor solutions that need no maintenance and thus lead to cost reductions in buildings and industrial plants. At its facilities in Germany and the USA, EnOcean GmbH currently employs over 30 people to work on components and radio modules used worldwide in the system solutions of well-known product manufacturers for intelligent and energy-efficient buildings. A total of over 250,000 radio components are currently in use. The company has received numerous awards, most recently as "Technology Pioneer 2006" at the World Economic Forum and the "TopJob" seal of approval as top employer in January 2007.
