As more wind and solar are added to the grid, at a higher price per KW than coal, nuclear or natural gas, the state fears energy costs will rise even higher. On January 1, 2007, electricity rates increased 25% to 72%, in the Connecticut Light and Power and United Illuminating electricity service territories, resulting in higher costs for all commercial customers.
