C-MONEY OF SLIGHTLY STOOPID SET TO RELEASE DEBUT SOLO ALBUM “FAMILY BUSINESS” ON APRIL 20, 2010

(openPR) - LOS ANGELES, CA (March 16, 2010)—Christofer “C-Money” Welter announced today that his debut solo, full-length album entitled “Family Business” will be released digitally, worldwide on April 20, 2010. “Family Business,” produced and co-written by Craig Welsh aka Top Rankin showcases a collection of songs from a wide range of artists including: G. Love, Kyle “Stoopid” McDonald of Slightly Stoopid, Elliott Martin of John Brown’s Body, Angelo Moore of Fishbone, Dre Gipson of Fishbone, and Craig Akira of Pressure Cooker. The fourteen fresh tracks create a soundscape of reggae, hip-hop, jazz, funk, blues, and soul sounds that are a fusion of C-Money’s past, present, and future in music. The first single off the new album entitled “Arroz Con Pollo” featuring G. Love will hit radio spring 2010.

Of the new record, C-Money says, “I really love making music and this is a perfect way to do that when I’m off the road. Jamming with people like G. Love and Dre Gipson of Fishbone is a dream come true. I only hope that it adds to the great pool of talent that is Stoopid Records.”

Best known for his work with Slightly Stoopid and John Brown’s Body, C-Money is one of the most accomplished, creative, and inventive musicians in the modern reggae music scene today. Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with artists such as Hassan Hakmoun, Burning Spear, The Itals, Justin Hinds, Easy Star All Stars, Gym Class Heroes, SOJA, Giant Panda Guerrilla Dub Squad, , G. Love, The Expendables, Rebelution, Sly & Robbie, Inner Circle, and most recently Snoop Dogg. In addition, he has played some of the most notable music festivals in the business, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and The New Orleans Jazz Fest to name a few. He has also recorded with various labels throughout his career, including: I-Town, Shanachie, Easy Star, ROIR, Philidelphonic, Stoopid Records, Skunk Records and now Young Cub Records.
