Facts and reason for the film:
The autobiographical dance-theater TIME DANCING SINCE 1927 premièred in February 2006 in the Oper Leipzig. At this time, the film-maker Trevor Peters already thought to produce a movie based on the dancing-piece. During the shooting of the film, the dance-theater of generations LEAPS IN TIME got produced by Heike Hennig. In this piece the protagonists meet up with younger dance-colleagues. Since its première in 2007 the dance-theater-piece and the movie were regularly present at international festivals. Thanks to this documentary film and reports in the medias till the first national channel ARD-Tagesthemen, people all over the world (as far as to Vancouver) know Heike Hennig as german choreographer. Heike Hennig is known with her new genres to the international dance-history.
Description of the documentary:
Careers end up early in classical ballet, at the latest at the age of about 35. Four former professional dancers, who are nearly 80 years old, took the challenge of the choreographer Heike Hennig and returned to the stage. DANCING WITH TIME is the exceptional result on the stage of the Oper Leipzig, where they’ve been leading members of the Corps de Ballet Leipziger Ballett. They dance their life- and dance-stories, which documents the film and familiarizes us with Ursula Cain *1927, Christa Franze *1927-2009, Siegfried Prößl *1934 and Horst Dittmann *1943 as lively personalities.

Ensemble HEIKE HENNIG & Co with Music - Dance - Theater. New Media is the artistic showpiece of the FZTM - Forum of Contemporary Dance and Music in Leipzig. The team of artists conduced by Heike Hennig and Friedrich Minkus goes from architects till video artists. The staging-program "OPER Leipzig unplugged” besides the repertoire presents every year a première of a new production by HEIKE HENNIG & Co. The Ensemble is present with its partners of coproduction and guest performances on international festivals.
