Berlin/Garbsen, 25th September 2009 – Posters are constantly disappearing from public spaces. Displays show a mix of advertising, information and entertainment spots. The digital advertising network at Tegel Airport reveals that thereby advertisement draws much more attention.
Tegel Airport is Berlin’s busiest airport. Due to its centrality and the attractive destinations on the flight schedule mostly business passengers make use of the airport. In recent years, Tegel has recorded constant growth and, in 2008, 14.5 million airline passengers passed through the airport. On average, Tegel Airport handles around 415 flights per day. This clearly defined target group makes Tegel Airport a perfect place for advertisement. Advertisement at Tegel Airport draws more attention in a mix with information and entertainment than simple posters do.
Deutsche Telekom Out-of-Home Media thus installed a new, digital advertising network with more than 100 displays and has already found first advertising partners. The content administration and playout is carried out via the “Oxygen Media Platform” systems of 42media group from Garbsen, Germany whose software is also the basis of the German Postbank “Filial-TV”. Besides the commercials news and weather forecasts by n-tv digital art and Tegel image spots are displayed. This mixture draws the passengers’ attention.
The professional displays which are designed for continuous operation and which are installed horizontally are supplied by the airport specialist Conrac from Waikersheim, Germany. The central administration of the advertising network is carried out via the Management Suite, a web-based solution created by 42media group as well.
The airport terminal’s circular architecture with its adjacent check-in counters, departure lounges and arrival areas guarantees that the target group is addressed in an optimal way. With more than 50% business passengers Tegel Airport is the ideal place for exclusive advertisement.
