ISLA President Wins 2013 Lifesaver of the Year Award

ISLA President, Henry Reyes, was awarded the title of “Lifesaver of the Year.” Henry competed against nine other finalists; all nominated for their impact on the lives of others in a water-related capacity. The winner was chosen based off votes from the Lifesaver Facebook Application. Voting took place from December 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012. Henry will receive an all-expense paid trip to the National Drowning Prevention Alliance (NDPA)

ISLA Lifeguards Minimize Drowning in the Dominican Republic

This Thanksgiving holiday, volunteer lifeguards from the non-profit, the International Surf Lifesaving Association (ISLA), traveled to the Dominican Republic (DR) as part of an initiative to minimize drowning. As part of a three stage initiative to minimize deaths and injuries caused by drowning, ISLA conducted two Basic Open Water Lifeguard Training Courses in the DR. ISLA Lifeguards Travel to the Dominican Republic to Minimize Drowning

This November, volunteer lifeguards from the non-profit, the International Surf Lifesaving Association (ISLA), are traveling to the Dominican Republic (DR) as part of an initiative to minimize drowning. Founded in 2008, ISLA’s mission is to prevent drowning worldwide by building a culture of water safety.
