(openPR) - A team from Dhevatara Residence took first place honours in the gruelling Extreme Men's Division at the recent Koh Samui Adventure Race.

Khun Chadarak Chaikamjorn and Khun Suwat Paiboon finished the course in 4 hours, 26 minutes and 39 seconds, around 20 minutes ahead of their second place rivals.

The Extreme race involved three runs, swimming, kayaking and cycling over some of the island's toughest terrain, and with 8 other teams competing in the hardest category in the competition, the win was an impressive achievement.

"Dhevatara is proud to be involved in events like this that promote health and nature on the island," said Aimee Helliwell, the firm's Managing Director. "We were very excited to be one of the winners. The team trained very hard for the race and it certainly showed that our commitment to the event went far beyond commercial support."

The inaugural Samui Adventure Race took place on September 19 and drew teams from around the world compete in several categories, racing through tropical jungle, paddling and swimming in Samui's azure seas and cycling over the palm-clad hills.

Dhevatara sponsored the event and also provided prizes such as 3 days 2 nights stay at one of their luxurious, private beach villas on Koh Samui. The organizers, Active Management Asia, also received support from the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Tourism Association of Koh Samui and the Thai Hotel Association of Koh Samui.
