Grid-Tools announces test data management software for database subsetting, data anonymising and test data generation
Press release from: Grid-Tools Limited
(openPR) - Latest version of GT Datamaker enterprise data management software adds support for DB2 and MySQL to provide organisations with one tool to ensure compliance with data protection laws across all their test databases
Oxford, UK - April 5, 2006 - Grid-Tools, the test data management experts, today announced the release of version 1.9 of its database test data subsetting, anonymising and generation product, GT Datamaker. The new release includes:
- The ability for standard test cases to be "inherited" allowing them to be used as the basis of more specific test cases, saving considerable time during testing.
- Support for DB2 and MySQL, adding to the existing support for Oracle, SQL Server and Sybase.
GT Datamaker is designed to automatically create data to aid testing of complex database applications. It has a comprehensive database rules discovery tool documenting database structures. It can either create data with referential and application integrity or anonymise production data, cleansing it of personal and confidential information to ensure compliance with legislation such as the Data Protection Act and HIPAA.
The software is used in government and financial institutions where there are strict rules on data privacy.
"The addition of DB2 and MySQL allows us to provide enterprises with one tool to ensure compliance with data protection laws across all their test databases," remarked Huw Price, CEO of Grid-Tools. "A large amount of development budget is spent on testing application. GT Datamaker also provides the tools to reuse test cases, saving significant time and thus increasing developer and tester productivity."
