Northworks and SevenOne Intermedia Cooperate

Hamburg-based agency to develop football management game “ran”

Hamburg, 19 August 2009: In time for the start of new football season, Hamburg-based developers northworks Software GmbH announce their planned cooperation with SevenOne Intermedia. The multimedia company, which is part of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group, will offer a co-branded version of northworks’ football manager game “goalunited” to accompany the reissue of the legendary Sat.1 football brand “ran”.

Since its release in 2006, the online football manager game goalunited has attracted over 1.3 million players and garnered an impressive number of awards. ProSiebenSat.1 subsidiary SevenOne Intermedia has now joined the ranks of those taken by the browser game. The Munich-based media enterprise will offer a co-branded edition of goalunited. Registration for the new version, entitled “goalunited powered by ran”, is now open at Sat1Spiele.de, SevenGames.de and ran.de.

Targeted at the German market, the co-branded edition is modeled on the typical design of the sports brand “ran”. In addition, users will receive “ran” news and football-related programme announcements. The functionality and handling of the original version are maintained. Players of the “ran” game can compete with the members of goalunited in the browser game’s various leagues, and shoot to win, move up, and bring the trophy home. To celebrate the launch of “goalunited powered by ran”, northworks and SevenOne Intermedia will hold a German Cup competition with a host of great prizes for the winners.

Playing the free football management game goalunited puts you in charge of your own virtual football team. From training, to buying and selling athletes, to choosing the right tactics for the next game – your strategy and decisions determine whether your team wins or loses. An additional EUR 2.99 per month upgrades your player’s account to a premium account (“supporter”) and lets you access the game’s extended features. With its award-winning look and feel, goalunited is the new benchmark in the world of browser-based sports games.
