Teambuilding and a Pub Quiz

Advertising, Media Consulting, Marketing Research
Press release from: CONSULTus Expatriate Briefings & Intercultural Seminars GmbH
(openPR) - Frankfurt am Main/Germany, (Juli 21, 2009) - ...so what to expect? A dim lit place, smelling of stale beer and cigarette stubs?
“None of the above" - says Hilly van Swol-Ulbrich.

This can be any location; on site of a corporate facility, off site in a restaurant, an auditorium, an outdoor theme park or even a bus! All above examples reflect actual situations where the corporate client has asked us to design and facilitate an event for their staff or clients.

These events are facilitated icebreaking tools to get the group into that communicative pro active state of mind, and in general supports the teambuilding. These are scheduled round conferences, project kick-off’s, in-company trainings, product launches, s welcoming event for all the new (expatriate) hirers or customer relationship events.

The pub quiz in the bus was during a 2 hour site-tour of our client during a show and tell versus their major clients. Consultus was approached to design an Infotainment Program for their “corporate client’s day” and the Pub Quiz was just one part of a total program.

Of course it is fun, but let’s not under estimate the work involved. To design a pub quiz, that is customized to the business of the corporate client, the participants with their different walks of life and cultures they represent, the specifics of the occasion and much more - all of this has to be taken into account in the designing of the questions. But seeing the unwinding effect it has on the participants definitely pays off.
