(openPR) - In 2008 for the first time CODIXX presented a colorPol® polarizer which has been developed especially for the mid infrared range - colorPol® MIR.
With the steady raise of applications in the MIR range like matter analysis, spectroscopy or thermography, the polarizer is thrusted into the spotlight.
CODIXX was rising the increasing challenges.
The next generation of the successful colorPol® MIR provides excellent prerequisites to meet the demands.
The polarizer now has an extended spectral range of 4 µm.
This filter comes with a very large bandwidth and high exctinction ratios of above 10,000 : 1 (40dB) within 1.5 µm ‑ 5.0 µm (wavenumbers 6,666 cm‑1 ‑ 2,000 cm‑1) and above 1,000 : 1 (30dB) within 1.2 µm ‑ 5.0 µm (in wavenumbers 8,333 cm‑1 ‑ 2,000 cm‑1).
Transmittance properties up to 90% underline the entitlement to a high performance polarizer.
Based on the unique colorPol® technology for doping of sodium silicate glass with prolate silver nanoparticles all colorPol® polarizers provide high temperature stability up to + 400° C, resistance against rough environmental influences, against the most chemicals, UV radiation and bleaching as well as the ease applicability to name a few.
Dimensions ranging from 1 x 1 mm² up to 100 x 50 mm² and different shapes are available. In addition, the filter is offered in standard versions with diameters of 12.5 mm, 25.0 mm as well as 0.5 inches and 1 inches, respectively.
CODIXX is a manufacturer of optical polarizers for the infrared, the visible and ultraviolet spectral range. On the cutting edge of nanotechnology, its leading role is a result of steady development since it was founded in 1998.
