(openPR) - LOS ANGELES, CA (June 10, 2009)-- RECALL starring actress Olivia Dawn York will be showing at the Dances with Films Festival in Hollywood on June 10 at 5:00 p.m. Described as "the defiant festival of raw talent," by The Hollywood Reporter, the Dances with Films Festival will also be showing the short films THE DEVILS MATCHMAKER, A DANCE OF TWO, LIFE IS LIKE A SHORT TRAIN RIDE, PROMOTION, MY BROTHER’S KEEPER, OGLES WITH GOGGLES, TWILIGHT TANGO, and WOTH in addition to RECALL.
RECALL, written and directed by Mike Testin, is a drama is about a young woman, Anne (Najarra Townsend), who is visited by a troubled childhood friend, Lori (Olivia Dawn York). One night, Lori goes to Anne’s home because she is distressed by a vision she had and wants to share it with her friend because she is in need of someone to feel her pain with her. Lori convinces her to listen to a bizarre, hypnotic audio file, leading her to relive a nightmarish vision from her past.
“Lori had a cool vibe in that she seems dark and moody,” said York of her character. “But once the film progresses, what once seemed like edge reveals itself as deep pain and a troubled past.”
York has also starred in the thriller crime film ELSEWHERE (2009) alongside Anna Kendrick (Twilight), Paul Wesley (Army Wives), and Tania Raymonde (Lost.)
The Dances with Films Festival takes place at Laemmle’s Sunset 5 which is located at 8000 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90046. The festival is from June 5th until June 11th.
