McKool Smith Adds Five Litigators in Growing New York Office

DALLAS – The national law firm of McKool Smith is announcing the addition of five experienced attorneys in the firm’s expanding New York office.

Firm associates Eric P. Berger, Virginia Iglesia, John F. Petrsoric, Katherine B. Thornburgh and Benjamin J. Warlick join a deep bench of proven trial counsel at McKool Smith, providing representation for some of the world’s most successful individuals and businesses in complex commercial matters, intellectual property disputes and white collar litigation.

“As our firm continues to grow, we constantly are seeking out the finest legal minds to join our team,” says Robert Cote, head of McKool Smith’s New York office. “All of these attorneys have the skills and experience that our clients have come to expect, and I expect they’ll each make an immediate impact at the firm.”

Mr. Berger joins McKool Smith from Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges in New York. His practice is focused on intellectual property matters with an emphasis on electrical engineering related patent litigation. Mr. Berger earned a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois before earning his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he graduated cum laude.

Ms. Iglesia previously practiced with Greenberg Traurig in Miami. She previously served as a law clerk for Judge Alan S. Gold in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and interned for judges in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Iglesia graduated with high honors from Emory University School of Law after earning a degree in communications, cum laude, from the University of Miami. She also holds a master’s degree in communications, magna cum laude, from Florida International University.

Mr. Petrsoric practiced with Goodwin Procter and Kenyon & Kenyon in New York prior to joining McKool Smith. He developed advanced systems processing technology for Northrop-Grumman Corp./Grumman Aerospace Corp. before earning his law degree from Fordham University School of Law. Mr. Petrsoric also holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University.

Ms. Thornburgh joins McKool Smith from the New York Office of Howrey LLP. Her experience includes representing clients in government investigations, internal investigations, commercial litigation and intellectual property matters. She earned her law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School after graduating with honors from the University of Virginia.

Mr. Warlick previously was with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in New York. He focuses his practice on patent and antitrust litigation. Mr. Warlick earned his law degree from the New York University School of Law after graduating with a masters degree in electrical engineering from the University of California Berkeley and a bachelors degree in computer engineering with highest honors from the University of Virginia.
