(openPR) - TAFISA, the International Sport for All Association, is delighted to announce that our Secretary General, Mr Wolfgang Baumann, was appointed a Member of the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Sport for All Commission by IOC President Jaques Rogge. This is not only an outstanding personal achievement, but a reflection on the relevant and important work TAFISA is undertaking, and its future potential.
The next meeting of the IOC Sport for All Commission will take place in Lausanne, June 19 at the Olympic Museum.
TAFISA is the International Sport for All Association. It is established as leading international Organisation in the Sports for All sector and has more than 220 national and international member organizations of about 130 countries world wide. TAFISA believes that the access to Sport for All and physical activity is a basic human right for all and sees Sport for All as a major contribution to individual, social, community and national life quality. Therefor TAFISA supports the promotion of exchanges and transfer of experience, participation programs, education of leaders and dissemination of model projects and expertise. The organization cooperates with institutions in the fields of sport and physical activity to advance health, culture, education and recreation. TAFISA is since long a "Recognised Organisation" of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and there is a longstanding record of co- operation concerning various Sport for All projects.
Mr. Wolfgang Baumann is TAFISA Secretary General since 2005.
