Press release from: LANXESS CHINA
(openPR) - LANXESS Rubber Student Award is a regular based program initiated in China.
Qingdao/Shanghai –German specialty chemicals company LANXESS AG recently announced the initiation of LANXESS Rubber Student Award in Qingdao, Shandong, China. It is a regular based program with the purpose of joint force of enterprise and university to provide learning and development opportunities to excellent Chinese students.
Ms. Wang Shuang Shuang, postgraduate of School of Polymer Science & Engineering of Qingdao University of Science and Technology (QUST) became the first student to benefit from the program.
Dr. Claus Wrana and Professor Dr. Werner Obrecht from LANXESS Technical Rubber Products business unit conducted an intensive five-day advanced study program for the graduate students at School of Polymer Science & Engineering of QUST in the middle of May. The final examinations for this course were held on the last day to pick up the top one student who will be enjoying a full month of technical training at LANXESS’s headquarters in Leverkusen, Germany.
“Faculty members at QUST, alongside LANXESS Technical Rubber Products experts, worked tirelessly with the students, teaching, mentoring, helping them through some of the most complex technical and scientific problems that we could put before them. Students were absorbed in the most intricate problems of polymer physics and rubber chemistry. I am so glad that we have many future rubber engineers and scientists here at the university, and it is my hope that some will be working for LANXESS one day,” commented Dr. Günther Weymans, Head of LANXESS Business Unit Technical Rubber Products.
“It demonstrates again LANXESS’s commitment to education initiatives in China”, says Martin Kraemer, CEO of LANXESS Greater China. “Through this corporation, we want to reinforce academic exchange and cooperation between industry and educational institutions as well as between China and Germany. At the same time we would like to create more and better opportunities for top students for their learning and development”.
“LANXESS has been coping with the severe business environment by cutting costs through measures that include putting off capital expenditures and cutting back on production and employee working hours. However, believing that the talents development is crucial for our future growth, the company has decided to take theoretical education at the university,” commented Werner Breuers, Member of the Board of Management of LANXESS AG, at a media event.
This LANXESS Rubber Student Award is as part of the cooperation project between LANXESS and QUST. This education initiation offers Chinese students working experience at one of the world’s largest synthetic rubber manufacturers and good knowledge of LANXESS’s culture and technology.

Comments about openPR
OpenPR ist the nicest and most clearly laid out PR platform I have seen to this day. The press releases are displayed very nicely and clearly and without any unnecessary frills.
The updates are fast and the finished release looks appealing and is clearly legible.
Even with 16 years of experience one discovers new things from time to time.
Congratulations!
